Analysis of the Implementation Level of Patient Blood Management in Hospitals Worldwide

Overview

This study investigates the global implementation of patient blood management (PBM) in clinical practice. As a prospective, international study, it aims to analyze the level of integration of PBM. This is an observational study; no interventions will be conducted.

Objective

We will collect data on PBM implementation in hospitals worldwide in order to gain insights into current practices and potential for improvement. Perspectively, this should lead to establishing and improving PBM as a central strategy in hospitals worldwide, thereby contributing to patient safety.

Participation

Any hospital worldwide can participate completely free of charge and determine the status of implementation of the PBM measures defined in the PBM Network. The corresponding PBM level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.) will then be calculated based on the tiered shown below. Simply fill out the self-evaluation form and send it back signed to: patientbloodmanagement@unimedizin-ffm.de.
